Love to Listen on the Go?

These are some of the podcasts (and TED talks) that have really made a difference for me.

If you’ve any recommendations I can to the list I’d really love to hear them. You can send them to me here.

  • Hearing Tricia Hersey speaks on the We Can Do Hard Things Podcast (there are so many episodes on here that I would recommend so it’s worth a browse) about the radical roots of selfcare and how rest is your resistance.

  • Fearology is a two-part podcast by Ali Ward interviewing fear scientist Mary Poffenroth is a great introduction to how stress, fear, and anxiety in a general sense affect the brain, and what we can do about it.

  • This TED talk by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson is a great introduction to finding joy within your climate activism itself (and therefore avoiding burnout). My only caveat is that she starts by saying it’s good not to dwell on our grief about climate change… I would disagree but more on that in the recorded workshops!

  • This podcast interviewing Dara McAnulty is a stunning reflection on the role of joy, creativity and the arts in activism.

  • If you want to understand practices that can support your mental and emotional health this is a wonderful podcast by Dr Rangan Chattergee interviewing Dr. Caroline Leaf, one of the first neuroscientists to understand neuroplasticity.

  • World famous relationship expert Esther Perel reflects on our interdependence with nature.

  • This 15 minute ‘Soul Walk’ by Jonathan Gustin explores intuition and nature connection approaches to decision making. It’s a wonderful, immersive experience that I would highly recommend.

  • On the theme of walk, this Deep Time Walk will enable you to ‘explore the Climate Emergency via a transformative walking experience that leads participants into a profound connection with the more-than-human world.’ I absolutely loved it- enjoy!
